The National Credit Team of the Year Award (CTOY) is an opportunity for credit teams to be recognised for the outstanding work, results, culture and learning they undertake.
Since 2008 the Credit Team of Year Award has recognised the exceptional culture, skills and achievements of Australia’s leading credit teams.
Nominating your credit team has many personal and professional benefits including the chance to:

Who is eligible?
- A team of employees in a credit function (a maximum of six, minimum of two to be involved in formal presentation, regardless of the credit team size)
- Membership of AICM is not a pre-requisite
- Previous national winning team is NOT eligible to apply in the following year.
Application & judging process
- Submit a Word or PowerPoint document containing all aspects of the application criteria to AICM by Monday, 31 March 2025. Applications missing components will have points deducted.
- The team’s Credit Manager and/or Finance Controller/Director must certify each application, submitting it at the same time.
- Applications are to be submitted via email to aicm@aicm.com.au
- Four finalists will be selected for judging and advised by Monday, 28 April 2025 or shortly after.
- Judging will occur in a standard format between 9 June and 20 June. Interviews may be conducted via video conferencing.
- The four finalists must use the $1,000 team development grant before the interviews.
- The top four finalists will also be invited to attend their respective division’s State awards night.
Scope of national finalists judging
- Finalists must give a 30-minute presentation to the judging panel, including how they have used the $1,000 team development grant to enhance their team, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.
- The presentation should highlight the use of the development grant, achievements, and what ‘team’ means to you.
- The short timeframe for using the grant is a challenge the judges take into consideration, viewing it as an opportunity to showcase your team's creativity and culture.
- The Q&A session will cover teamwork, achievements, and general credit topics.
National winner announcement
- Two national finalists will be selected as nominees for the national winner and notified.
- Two members of each team will be invited to the AICM National Conference for the announcement of the National Credit Team of the Year winner.
- The 2025 AICM National Conference is being held at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa from Wednesday, 15 October to Friday, 17 October 2025.
Judging panel
The judging panel will comprise of three senior credit representatives, from AICM, Equifax and an invited representative from the industry.
Prizes
Each finalist (4 teams) will receive:
- Recognition as one of four finalists in the AICM Magazine and the AICM and Equifax wider credit community.
- The four finalists will each receive a $1,000 Team Development Grant.
- Three non-winning finalists teams will receive $500 each in AICM services of their choice.
The national finalist (top 2 teams) will receive:
- Two conference registrations to the AICM 2025 National Conference.
- Airfares and accommodation at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa.
- On-stage introduction prior to the announcement of the National Credit Team of the Year winner.
The national winner (1 team) will receive:
- Professional development services worth $2,000, provided by AICM
- Recognition in the AICM magazine, plus the AICM, and Equifax websites
- The National Credit Team of the Year winner’s trophy.
