Credit Industry Faces Regulatory Overhaul

The National Consumer Credit Protection Acts received Royal Assent on 17 December 2009.

This wide ranging law reform will significantly impact upon the provision of consumer credit. If you or your organisation intends to continue to offer consumer credit then it will be essential that you apply for a credit license. In order to obtain a credit license you or your organisation must be able to demonstrate that amongst other things you comply with National Consumer Credit Protection Act s47(1)(f) relating to organisational competence.
